USA upgrade

Okay well I know upgrading the to 3sgte is the best way to go with a 91 n/a mr2, but I dont have the money for that, so I was wondering what upgrades would everyone recommend to at least make it a little bit faster. All I got right now is a short ram intake. Thanks everyone...

eh...there are headers and full exhaust or do the cheaper thing(have a custom exhaust made, atleast mine was) and if u want tranny they do have a short shifter and clutch kits.

p.s. most of my old 5sfe upgrades (purchased/wanted) where on ebay and they worked fine there isnt that many upgrades for cheap power for a 5sfe but if u can spend a little more they do make forged pistons for it and turbo kits

well to be honest, there is not a whole lot you can do to the 5sfe. headers, intake, exhaust. thats about it. and you dont even get that much hp. cant really tell. i had the 5sfe. now i have the 3rd gen 3sgte. i would say save your money and get the 3sgte.

I understand completely where you're coming from with this becuase I'm in the same boat. i want to do a swap but I'm not financially prepared to make it happen yet.

What I keep coming back to is the fact that by the time you've made any significant gains with the 5S you've spent a pretty good chunk of change that could have gone towards the swap. What I've resigned myself to is keeping the motor in good running condition and avoiding spending any more money on it then I have to.
