My gen3 runs on a gen2 ecu/afm. Before I catch flak, I didn't choose the setup, it was bought like this. Also proving it's strong is a 276rwhp dyno run.
As soon as I check compression I want to upgrade the rest of the car. This would be in the form of proper ECU and MAP. I have no experience or knowledge with an EMS but I'm sure someone here does.
Let me start by saying the power the car makes is very satisfactory to me. Does this mean an EMS would be kindof pointless to me/if I'm not looking for more power now/later? (I know I can add a turbo later without touching much else to hit the 320+ rwhp range, if I ever wanted more power that would definitely be the edge for me)
Cost is also a factor, I'm not interested in spending $1,000. I'm under the impression any EMS costs more than that but i am looking at good versus bad. I also do not have a laptop but I am lucky enough to have a dyno 10 minutes up the road.

(I do have a home PC 5 feet from where the car sleeps)
As I know now, I need the gen3 ECU, MAP, 2 air temp sensors and at least an engine harness into ecu. (I'd like to replace the entire body harness too, the re-wiring into the ecu in the trunk is a mess)
As with everything I've done with the car, I want it reliable over all else. Any help or insight would be great! Thanks!
