Ebay carbon fiber hood... sucks

The fitment is terrible. The gaps are huge, and I can't get it to line up at ALL. Also there are no holes for the windshield pissers, and there are molding dents where the hood latch is. Oh, and the stock hood hardware doesn't fit, you need new NON-supplied bolts.

Here are REAL pix of what the ebay carbon fiber hood looks like on a car. Not a car that has either been photoshopped or had the body realligned to fit the hood. I'm not even sure if I'm keeping it or not. Sucks too as I love the look of it.

Is that thing supposed to be painted to match the car? Or does it just supposed to be a different color form the car? I'd assume the purpose of Carbon Fibre is to reduce weight, much like aluminum.

It can be painted, but most people leave it raw.

Why? Then it just looks like you were in an accident and snagged a hood of a junkyard car. A'course the bad fittment doesn't help that appearance any.

You'd have to see it in person.

Well when I come for car parts I just might. Are you sending it back?
And how much longer 'til the parts car comes?

if the purpose was to make the car lighter then the hood seems to work fine.... however, why lose weight in the front when mr2's are rear biased?

if the purpose was to make the car look cooler, then going cheap usually isn't the best idea....

haha yah, it was mostly for looks.

I would have gotten a Seibon or Carbon Creations...or even TRD, but no one makes them any more.
