New tires from Michelin-Opinions Plz

Radical new tire design by Michelin.

Thought you might like to see the next generation of tires.

They had a set at the Philadelphia car show.

(Embedded image moved to file: pic27157.jpg)

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very
soon.
The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on
these tires
This is what great R&D will do and just think of the impact on existing
technology:

I was hoping to get some comments from some of you guys as to how these tires would perform under different circumstances such as autoX , Hillclimbs, drifting, drag racing? and of course the obvious-everyday street use for the MR2?

well, since the rubber compund(s) are affected by heat...
i wonder if the flex factor will be affected by a heat or two of a course of any kind. i would also be curious to see what would happen if those ribs begin to deteriorate...what would happen to 'sidewall stiffness'. i think also your tires would be one less adjustability point when it comes to trying to dial-in your suspension. i mean, would dampers need to be re-thought? i mean, not many have twin valve dampers on the road...

Thats pretty cool, but what about being able to adjust your tire pressure for long trips and such? I dont see them being practical for everyday use.

Right now, the only advantage I can see is the "no flats" issue...might have some military and off road uses. would make great tires for snow and ice if they had spikes imbedded in them...I'm curious about the rims too...
