USA Show I buy or not?

I live in kansas and mr2's aren't a common car by any means. I know three people in wichita that own one. My dad and an old guy and a dumbass named adam who's blown two mr2 at the track cause he couldnt shift right.

I'm wanted the opinion of toyota nation on rather or not I should buy this car.

1991 Toyota Mr2 Tubro
Price: 5995 obo
Engine: 3sgte
Miles: 127,000
Notes: A/C needs charged, new timing belt, new fan belt, alternator, distributor cap, water pump, and spark plugs, recent oil change, new paint job.
Reson for sale: Wanting a mazada rx-7

Bad notes: Org motor was bad and was replace with a same year motor, MPH gauge doesn't work. Noted that the connection might be bad.

If its a good offer what price should I offer. If bad could you enlighten me...
Thanks!

if the paint job is of good quality, the price seems ok, mostly seems to cover the paint job though. how many miles are on the new engine? 127k on the car isnt bad.

if and when you charge the ac though, have a dye put in, and bring it back later to check for leaks. ac lines arent cheap, and certainly not on an mr2.

the speedometer gauge could be the sensor on the tranny or the cable. cable would probly be a couple hundred

i would try and bring the price down closer to 5k or try and get the speedo fixed and have the guy make sure the ac is good. otherwise (i could be wrong) but there could be a good 1200 in repairs to be done on those on top of buying the car, assuming ac lines had to be changed, or the speedomete cable had to be changed. it could just be chargin the ac and the speed senser which would be alot cheaper

$5k would be fair. 3-3.5k is rediculously low. Find out how long the car has been running without the speedo working... and what the mileage of the new motor is. Most important of all... go drive the thing.
