Looking at buying a 86' MR2

Found it locally here, just asking what I should check before I buy it.

Its a 1986 MR2, 5 speed.
New rotors, pads, calipers, struts and rear tires. Front tires are worn, paint looks good except for some chips, and theres a bra on it that looks like it faded the paint under it. It has 111,000 miles. Interior looks great except for a tear in the center console.

It is selling for $1900, does that sound good? Are these cars good for modding on the cheap. Just to play with?

What do they get for gas mileage?

well the price is good i got mine at $1500 the cost of modding it depends on what you wanna do with it but yes i would say its cheap to mod and its one of the best plateforms to mod and heres my reasoning for that its weight distribution is around 45/55 rear wheel drive and mid engine placement how many cars can you find that cheap and mid engine well the next closest in price range is the mitsu evo mr then it goes italian i personaly own a 1987 mr2 5 speed and love it more than my girl and she knows it and hates it for that reason oh and cuz she cant drive stick
