Reverse Beep

the reverse beep on my friends 2004 mr2 is driving her mad and she has asked me to disconnect it for her but the problem is i dont know where to start looking.
can anyone tell me how to do this or tell me where there is a good toyota speacialist in melbourne.
any help appreaciated

You'd almost be better off just finding a copy of the electrical/fuse diagrams and seeing if you can't just pull a fuse or a relay to disable it.

Did the car actually come with a backup alarm as original equipment? That's fairly bizarre practice. I've never heard of it being offered. Usually only commercial vehicles have them -for lower insurance. Occasionally paranoid old men will as well. If it's some weird thing that someone put in, trace the wires from the reversing lamps -that's how they are usually attached.

ok i should be more specific.
the beep isnt one of those outside the car beeps its somewhere in the dash cluster.
