Thumbs up Jekyl finally getting some mods ...

Wow, not sure when the last time I was that actually modified Jekyl or posted about the car, but now is the time. I took the day off of work today to get some things done around the house and it ended up taking me most of the day to get Jekyl prepped for hillclimb racing.

Basically all you need to get a car Hillcimb ready is a rollbar, fire extinguisher and 5-point harness. I had an extinguisher and extra harness alying around so all that was needed was a rollbar and padding. It took just over 5 hours to prep the car, but it would have taken longer if I took my time and did things a little "prettier."

I am pleased to announce that Spiral Moons Studio sponsored a rollbar for Jekyl! A big thanks to everyone that bought jewelry from Spiral Moons up at the big Kingston MR2 meet.

This is the standard Autopower Race Roll bar which is SCCA Time Trials legal.
Expect to see Jekyl coming to a hillclimb near you (depending on where you live!)

Costs for getting your car hillclimb ready:
$300 - Roll bar
$100 - harness
#25 - fire extinguisher

Here's the pics:

Is there a reason you are putting your NA into the mix??

And are you going to be racing both cars? Are you gonna drive or someone else? I have no clue what the rules are... but I can't imagine that you can race two different cars... and it would be a shame to take Hyde out of the hillclimb game.

Jekyl is being prepped for a few reasons.

I am going for the hillclimb SM2 championship and I can not afford to miss a race if something happens to Hyde. Also, we pay our entry fees weeks in advance for the hills. If something happened to Hyde in between races I would be out that money.

Secondly, David Hawkins, owner of twosrus.com and presdient of Club MR2, has been helping me with trailering Hyde and generally comes out to a lot of my events. This will give him something to do He's going to be racing Jekyl.

As for the rules, there are always 2 run groups on the hills and I would be more than welcome to race 2 different cars in each group. That would mean 2 entry fees though!

Hyde's not being taken out of any games. He will always be the primary race car.

Yep, the inside is damn clean!
And where and how did you anchor the bolts for the harness behind the headrest area?

MR2BAD, You can see in the one photo where the eye-hooks are for the harnesses.
On the engine bay side, there is the same big washer with a huge nut on it.

CompanyFlow, Jekyl has the 5SFE (non-turbo) engine with intake and a custom exhaust.
That's it for performance mods.

The lip will stay on. It's actually higher and closer to the body than Hyde's:
