2nd Generation trying to get bout 400hp?

i just got a extra 3sgte longblock and i trying to build it. ive been lookin at other people setups and some people gotten there blocks sleeved. i dont know if i need my block sleeved or not. im not trying to get alot of hp, 400-500hp at best. and this is going to be in my daily driver. on low boost. but 400-500hp when i need it. will the stock sleeve block handle the level of hp im trying to get DD?

our blocks are in no way shape or form, sleeved. we have iron blocks which are extremely durable. the only guys who sleeve them are the ones going for 800+whp.

as far as building the block, just use a stock crank, stock rods, and get some good aftermarket forged pistons. i really like the CP pistons i have in my 2.1L stroker.

don't worry about doing a stroker or anything. get head studs and a good head gasket (TTE, TRD, cometic, etc...). it would probably be wise to invest in a built head with cams and adjustable cam gears.

the next thing you'll want is a good sized turbo and a good tune job. make sure your fuel system can handle the extra airflow. probably at least a new rail, 850cc injectors, a good pressure regulator, and a high flow pump.

get on www.mr2oc.com and use the search feature. good luck.

-Mike

Hey 1quickmr2 vbmenu_register("postmenu_1366603", true); , i feel you on that man. I'm glad that you asked those questions about the sleeve because I also want to get about 500whp. Someone mentioned getting a great fuel management system. I wanted to know is anyone could recommend any good ones. I would really appreciate it.

I am currently in the process of replacing my whole fuel system and raising my psi to 28lbs. I would agree with what is said that you do need the high volume fuel rail but you dont need 850cc injectors for 400-500hp you are only going to be waisting money on unused gas! I have a high volume fuel rail from wolfkatz and venom 550cc injectors and it runs like a dream with my 28psi! as well with 850cc you should be running dual fuel pumps otherwise they dont get the fuel feed that they should have anyways! other then the injector size being to big i would say get a 255lph fuel pump and the rest is all good from what has been said! as for the fuel management i love my greddy e mangae ultimate as well its easy to use! i like it good luck man!
