Oil Dipstick Issues

I have a '91 MR-2 with the 5sfe non turbo engine. The oil dipstick gets stuck when I try and pull it out. By the time I get it to come out, the whole thing pretty much is covered in oil, so I never know what level my oil is at unless I change it. Has anyone else had this problem...and if so, how did you fix it? Thanks in advance.

is your dipstick warped at all? is the tip at the end bent too far? is your dipstick being inserted with the curve of the dipstick tube? i had similar problem but it was my tip being bent too far so just straightened it out and its been fine.

That very well could be the issue. I'm just not used to having a dipstick with a tip on it. I went to change the oil last night after not even that long of use and there was less than three quarts in there.

Haha...ya. Over all the car is in good shape though. Just needs some gaskets, hoses, and belts replaced....all maintenence things. Besides which, I dont plan on modding the engine, just using it as a daily driver mostly.
