Angry blue smoke....

My 91 n/a has blue smoke coming out of the exhaust at idle. I know this is most likely the valve seals leaking or just basically something with the valvetrain. how much does do you think it would cost to get them replaced or what i should do? thanks alot

hmm i would take your car down to a shop ...get an estimate , have them find the problem if youre not sure ...then from their you could see if u want to do it yourself or have them do it . its kinda hard to get an accurate cost if you dont know exactly whats wrong ya know?

do not start assuming....alittle blue smoke at ilde is not necessarily a big deal. How many miles on the engine? Oil usage per 1,000 miles? Have someone follow you while you drive, put car thur its paces....how much exhaust are you seeing while driving....could be fuel enrichment issues and/or oil usage and/or both. Do your homework LONG before you start worrying to much and opening your wallet....

WERD! i was going to say the fuel mixture is out of wack...JUst pay attention to you car while dirving.. does it bog, or is it overheating...those are something that will associate from a lean or rich mixture
