At the end of last year I stated a goal for 2006 of getting into the top 5 of a hillcimb event. I'm talking over all classes, raw times with no indexing (i.e. PAX scoring).
Typically Hyde ends up 8th or 9th overall and first in class.
Just being consistently in the top 10 is hard enough.
Getting into the top 5 seemed almost impossible for a street-legal car.
At this past weekend's Weatherly Hillclimb, I had an amazing bonsai-run that truly challenged the llimits I was willing to push and I faced some series fears to completely destroy the SM2 record I set last fall. You can read about that run
here.
I've been waiting all week to see the final results to see how I ended up placing overall. This was the last event of the year and my last chance to make it .... check it out!!
The MR2-based companies that have put so much time, effort, money and parts into Hyde, specifically Chico Race Work's killer engine, along with this entire communities support and the wonderfuly tuning of Bryan "NoShoes" Moore ... made this incredible result possible:
[i](p.s. Hyde was the only car in the top 10 that drove to the event

)
(there were 85 entries, I did not post all of them).
