Dude, I hate to say this, but until you start getting up to the speed limiter on your MK1 any "aerodynamic" stuff is
just plain drag regardless of what lid is on the back.
The vent holes in the lid are designed for one purpose, ventilation of engine heat. That is why there is a scoop on the right side to draw cool air in. SC cars have their lids designed to accomodate the increased height of the intercooler unit and have air drawn through it to cool the incoming air charge.
To be honest with you I found that my stock MR2 felt faster after I recovered it from being stolen and having it's rear wing (and other pieces) removed. Didn't look as good but I could wind it all the way up to 130 and it felt perfectly stable.
I guess the short answer to your question is that it shouldn't make any difference one way or another. Something else to note is that the NA lid has that have metal shrouds underneath to route water away from the vital engine bay parts while still allowing ventilation. The SC one is just a straight grille that would allow water to just fall straight in on top of your block. Even with the plate between the valve covers on top of the engine water can get in the spark plug trench and cause problems.
