UK Boot won't open

Hi,

Newbie, and I'm sorry to start with a problem.

My MR2 boot is stuck closed. The catch just to the right of the driver's seat won't release it, and the key won't open it either.

Anyone had this problem before?

Any suggestions?

I've tried WD-40 everywhere but to no avail.

Many thanks,

Graybo Guest

its a fairly common issue. do a search on trunk issues.

there is a valet mode where it locks it turned 90 degrees or so and sometimes wont release. i ended up punching a hole through the black plastic center piece where there is a hole in the sheetmetal. then yanked on the cable.

some others have tried other methods.

Thank you for your help. Much appreciated, and I'll try that tomorrow.
