Hi guys, I am the new guy on the forum... My name is Brian from Florida. I am an avid mr2 lover, and have had 3 in my time so far...MRQ has this thing covered... good job on the Power Primer, that has to be one of the best sources for great modding info I have ever seen, and I don't know who put all the time into making it, however I must say that it is truly a work of art, and a fantastic dedication.
The purchase of my third mr2 is to come this friday the 27th of october, I am flying out of florida to wisconsin to purchase the 1993. It was originally a N/A when the Toyota mechanic purchased it, swapped the motor, tranny, turbo, and ECU from a 1993 turbo with 42,627. Only mods on the car are a 5 zigen exhaust, apexi intake, apexi boost controller, upgraded fuel pump, turbo engine lid, 95 taillights, and an HKS fcd. it is currently running at 14psi. The car looks completely factory other than the exhaust. Black mint condition.......
Anyways, I just wanted to say hi to every one and possibly share some of the vast knowledge at my disposal... Although it would appear that there are a great many people who know alot more than me... I will do my very best to be a participant.
My only question is ..(is there a mr2 club, or a gathering of some sort in Fla anywhere??)

Hey, welcome to the board, nice to have you. Don't feel bad if others know more than you, it's a great way to learn.
I don't think there is a specifically florida mr2 club but I know on other forums (mr2oc and mr2board) there are divisions which include florida.
welcome!

well thats good to know.....I originallt wanted a Yellow Mr2, however these days u can't be too picky... as it is I have to fly half way across the US just to get a decent 1. Nice Car u have there!!! I wanted to share a video I saw recently if it will let me link it.... great mr2 video... someone really took some time with it. a yellow Mr2.... I think u will like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKr_dcOjTss
Just curious, what part of Florida are you from? Right now I'm living in Tallahassee at FSU, but during the summer I live in a small town just south of Melbourne. If you don't know where that is, then I live about an hour and a half south of Orlando on the east coast. If you live anywhere near those areas, then I bet I could learn a lot from you.
Unfortunately, I don't own an MR2 to date, but I am looking for an 88-89 SC (and saving up my money for it).
I've been looking around as well, and I haven't found an MR2 clubs specifically, but I'm sure there are some Toyota clubs somewhere.
Hiya Savage... I live about the same distance south of orlando, however I am on the east coast.... I live in the town called St. Lucie County... u know... the 1 taht got whaled by the hurricane... directly..... yip thats moi... hope u get ur car soon. Sc mk1's are very hard to find... even harder than the mk2 turbo's so good luck
Aha! So you are just south of me. I live in Indian River County, and yeah, we got bitchslapped by the hurricanes as well, so I feel your pain.
Anyway finding an SC MR2 isn't really the hard part. The hard part is finding one that isn't a thousand miles away, that is in good shape, and that I can actually afford . . .
Of course, If I find a really nice NA MKI for a good price then I might just get that. From what I understand, superchargers aren't too difficult to install.
