Thumbs up Exhaust question.

OK so im gonna be trading my buddy my jeep for his 93 n/a Mr2.

I've been into mr2's for years but havnt owned one, just researched and looked.

Down to my question though, im gonna be looking to replace the rediculous custom setup he has on it with something cleaner. I've always been a fan of the Blitz nurspec look and sound.

My actual question is..... will the nurspec setup mount up to a n/a setup?

I looked through the faq and the exhaust links and couldnt find my answer.

So if anyone could answer my question i'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I have that exhaust pipe, not sure if it works on an N/A, but I'm sure it does or they make one for it. The exhaust is a bit long "S" shaped, but it works good. Nice sound w/ a pull out silencer.

The turbo MR2 exhausts won't mount up to the NA exhaust manifold without some modification.

There was a company at one time that made an NA to Turbo exhaust adapter. I just can't remember who it was right now. Maybe one of my fellow MR2 enthusiasts can help me you out with that.

yeah i figured, but i wasnt sure if for some reason they had made the turbo models downpipe and the n/a's models header end at the same location..... & for some reason use the same dimension piping.

I guess i'll just have to deal with the setup thats current on it, and change exhausts after im out of school.

I plan on taking out a nice size loan and doing an overhaul on it. Including a 3sgte swap, different suspension & paint job.

I already has a Veilside style kit on it......or whats left of one i should say. I go to school for Autobody ... so i plan on working out the rough edges of the vehicle in the mean time till i get the loan. And eventually the car will be sitting with a tom's replica kit on it.

The turbo and NA primary cats bot hend at the same place under the car, so you can use an entire cat back system from either car on either engine.

The piece you are refering to is a little adapter that makes the NA B-pipe a little longer so you can use turbo exhaust systems that start after the B-pipe.

AFAIK, the Blitz nurspec starts at the bottom of the primary cat so it could be bolted up to etiher engine just fine.

As you mentioned the Veilside kit on the car... That kit was once loved by me, however all of the honda, acura and other mellow car drivers kind of ruined the kit for me...
You always see the kit's in bad shape, and now I look at that kit and H8 it.. It makes the front of the car look too long, as the front wheels are pushed forward for better handling, the Veilside kit brings the front end out too far, this if course is just my opinion, but the Tom's kit u speak of is at this time my Favorite, it keeps the front end short, and sweet, gives you the big intakes on the side, and the rear diffuser looks appealing... Also if u have any luck finding the Tom's spoiler, it is very nice, a little higher, and melds with the cars original appearance. If u or anyone else knows of a website to purchase this spoiler, let me know... Good luck man
