new to the board

Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi and i'm enjoying the board so far. Originally i'm a honda/Honda-tech child, so don't hate me haha.

Anyhow i'm considering a turbo mr2 for my next project car. While i am fairly well versed in force induction and their application to hondas i am really in search of a large information base surrounding the 3sgte. What i'm really asking is if you guys could send me in the direction of a really technical board. i've bounced around a few but most seem to be more general conversation.

TIA guys

What?

You say technical board, but what exactly are you referring to? A forum that talks about nothing but engine internals? I don't quite get what u mean but as for the 3SGTE , I think all the modding info, and support can be generated here, we are Happy to have you aboard... so welcome, but I hope this link might help u out as far as technical modding goes... as for internal questions, I am sure Hyde can help u out there... Or one of the more experienced guys. http://www.mrcontrols.com/primers/power.htm

well i have been looking into the factory capabilities of the the 3s, i realize them thats not exactly what i meant. only that i'm looking for other enthusiasts who have moved away from the ct series tubos, totally revamped fi setups, different internal/block/head configurations etc. just different stuff. i have been very spoiled being an active member of HT. its one of the largest boards on the internet, i guess i'm just looking for a variety of ideas and experiences- setups vs times/numbers. i don't honestly post alot, i read and form my own opinions generally. in short i am looking to reffernce from others sucess.

well in that case, there have been a great many topic on this forum that indicate what u have been talking about, there have been conversions from the 3SGTE to a twin turbo V-6 plus I believe that many people have done some benchmark tuning on a possible supra tt engine swap, (not too sure on this one) plus u might consider that some of the older mr2's have had V-8 transplants... I know that there is a quick google search for u that contains an 80's mr2 with a northstar engine transplant, and many other people that have done similar... I can give u a link... but in my opinion, this car is a joke... this is a peice of crap mr2 with this giant engine in it... and it looks like hell, but it does eventually run..
Good luck finding a forum that suports your request... let us know what u find
here is the link ...http://www.v8mr2.com/
Eventually, the car does get a paint job, and doesn't look too bad... but in my opinion... these cars weren't designed nor were they ever meant to have V-8's put in them.. they are after all a foreign make, cornering car... but whatever, they did the same thing to the Fiero... at least thats American, and has the american motor in it... But HEY... it's different right, lmao

lol, thanks i supose, appreciate the reply but still not what i'm inquiring for. i have no love for cross breeding mfg motors/chassis, a toyota should stay a toyota. i guess im' going to try and end this thread with a simple request, a list of mr2 forums? and which ones you guys think are best.

New paint? Actually a new chassis.

to each his own... I am the guy with the V8 MR2. There are only three that exist right now. Mine, one in England, a convertible MK1 and a Toyota V8 powered Spyder in Japan.

Try www.mr2oc.com for more technical talk. This is a good board. But there are many more MR2 experts on the other joint.
