Suspension

I do need to get some new suspension, like now... And I am between two kinds, I only need the rear, and I am between Two's r us (GR-2's gas struts) - 137.50
and 2 K racings Tokiko Illumina Struts. Both I will have to buy the Boots seperate, which are 16.00 a peice from Two's are us. Which is better... I know that money usually tells the tale, but seeing as how Jeff (Hyde) uses Two's r us, I figured it must be a reliable place

i ran the tokico illumina 5 ways like 5 years ago, they were decent for the price. setting 5 is pretty stiff, mine blew out inside 8 months. i never tracked the car but i will say i had it at an irresponisible ride height

Forgot to mention

My car is lowered with H&R lowering springs.... which takes into account the wear and tear on the suspension. Well I need suspension thats gonna last longer than 8 months, lol

twosrus.com is an awesome place to deal with.
Tell them I sent you if you give them a buzz.

If you are only doing the rears, I would go with the GR2s.

If you are doing the whole car, you might want to look at the Tokikos or the KYB AGX's.
I have run both in the past. The KYB's are a bunch stiffer than the Tokiko's but they are also a lot cheaper. They also do not seem to blow out as easily as the Tokikos.

Ok

I will go with the GR2's then.. The price was right, I just wanted to know if those were worth the $$... usually the cheaper price isn't the way to go, but heck, now I am glad I asked.. I only wish I could buy the sway bars seperate... I wanna do the entire back.... and I might have to buy the back and front sway bars at the same time :0(

The biggest difference between the GR2's and the Tokico illuminas is that the illuminas are adjustable.

If you can afford the adjustables, they are definately worth the money. Like Jeff said, the KYB AGX and the Tokico Illuminas are both really nice adjustable struts. The AGX are usually about $100 cheaper, but are only 4-way adjustable (instead of 5), and seam to be a bit more stiff.

I had the Tokico Illuminas, with H&R springs on my '91 turbo, and it was a real nice ride. Pretty comfy on the soft setting, with 5 way adjustability for autox days.

I had the GR2's in my celica. They are great for the price. Just a little bit stiffer than stock. I'd say if you want a little bit stiffer ride and are on a budget, go with the GR2's, but if you can spend a little more, the adjustable struts are definately a worthwhile purchase.

Just my $0.02

:0) thanks guys

I lie the .02 cents it is a nice gesture, but I really don't care too much about somewhat stiff rides. I Pretty much drive a car with rocks for suspension now... u know how it is when your suspension goes bad... anything will be a vast improvement... But I just want a put it in, and leave it suspension. And the Gr2's sound ideal... I think stock was a little mushy anyways. But thank you very much for the info... u all were very helpful!! Any more opinions will be greatly respected.

lowering springs on stock struts will force a speedy wear issue....

but i prefer the TRD strut setup... i kno alot of people don't. but it takes to my driving style so... thats just me
