Now I know u can get a single or possibly 2 8's in there, however I know for a fact, and have done it.... at least in both the 86' and 91' mr2..... the JL audio 10" subs only require .66 cubic feet of airspace. which doesn't take up too much room, u can design it taller and skinnier, or wider and shoter and skinnier. They only require 125 watts to power, and only cost a total of 99 - 150 bucks a peice for the 0 series.so purchasing an amp would be much cheaper for you too... and u get alot of bang for your buch. plus they aren't that heavy for a sub so u won't loose too much performance gain in a car that already needs a little pick me up.u can make a bog yourself with a little knowledge. Get the dimensions from any JL audio authorised dealer, the wood, carpet, wood glue, screws, sealer, and all should only cost you 40$. you of course can do this with 8" subs too which only take 100 watts power from jl, and require a little less cubic footage. But with the 10 inch sub. figure 150- 200 bucks for the amp... a good one. 125 bucks for the sub... and 40 bucks for the box...Then 35 bucks for all the wires... don't cheap out there... they are really important... u can get all of them at any Radio Shack. This all assuming u have a stereo that has RCA outputs in the back!!

400.00 and you are finished.. with a fantastic 10" sub from JL audio booming away. u can go jut a little cheaper with the 8" sub of course like 50- 75 bucks cheaper... good luck, my fingers hurt now.
