1987 MR2 Problems

I have a 1987 MR2 and when accelerate the motor starts to spudder and shake. this happens when the gas pedal is down about half way if i lightly press it doesnt happen. it feels like its only fireing on 2 cyclenders. i think it could be an ignition problem any suggestions?

touch each injector and feel for a clicking... like try to wrap you hand as much as you can around it and feel for clicking...

buy an inline spark tester for like 5-10 dollars and plug it into the plug then the wire on top and you can watch each cylinder spark... its not a exact science but will let you know if each unit is atleast functioning
