i have a 91 mr2. i want to have 17" on the back and the tire size is 225 and 16" on the front tire size is 215. so how can i find out what tires szie for what rims. or i can put any tires on any different rims? thanks. i dont know what kind rims i will get yet, but im start looking already.
also i looked some rims like 17x7.5 and 17x8. is the second number tells me the tire or what number i look so i know what size of the tire i can put on? thanks a lot!!
215 = Tire Width In Millimeters
40 = Tire Height In Millimeters
Radial 17 = Tire Diameter In Inches
Now Your Measurement Is 17 x 7.5 or 17 x 8.0
These Are Rim Measurements...
17 = Rim Diameter In Inches
7.5 = Rim Width In Inches
7.5 = 190 Millimeters
8.0 = 203 Millimeters
Now Rim Diameter and Tire Diameter Must Match... R17 W/ 17's 16's W/ 16's... But Width And Height Can Vary Depending On The Performance Value Your Looking For.
7.5 = 190 Millimeters 8.0 = 203 Millimeters
These Are A Direct Fit, The Tires Can Be Stretched To A Certain Limit, But I Don't Know The Extremes. I Imagine 235 Is Pretty Much The Limit For An 8 Inch Rim...
Height Really Doesn't Matter 40 Is Your Typical "Low Profile" Anything Smaller And Your Riding Rubber Bands. Also The Numbers ID Is Accurate But A Tire Shop Will Give The Best Information Regarding The Limits...
You definately have the right idea on the rims. 17's in the front and 16's in the rear. Gonna give u that nice stance, and aggressive look. The problem I found is that most manufacturers make their rims 16" and down or 17" and up... So when u find a good wheel in 16 and 17 " let me know!!

I think you got hat backwards ...
Ya let us know what you decided. I live in NW Metro (Minneapolis), if you need some ideas I have a couple different combos. 17 x 7 (f) and 17 x 9 (r) and then 17 x 7.5 (f) and 17 x 9.5 (r).

neat little site i found that has bolt patterns for most major cars. and yes, the Mr2 is 114.3 which is actually pretty common
thanks a lot!!!! this is so help!!!! i do have something to pick and i think i will ask discount tires to buy them for me, i think they are cheaper. is it a good idea?
those look nice, and they will look sweet on ur car, good price, and a good namebrand, I just prefer a polished or chrome lip on my wheels, which u have to pay dearly for!!
ya there is some other problems now. i dont think its easy to find 16 and 17 for a set. i been looking online a lot . what i like is only 16 for four or 17 for four. should i just go for 4 17s then? or 4 16s???
that really all depends on the type of rim iaminmn, Some rims look waaay too big as 17's on that car, but some look just right. The 16's will be a little bit lighter, and cost u less money, and less money as in tires too. But I wouldn't be happy unless I got 16's in the front, and 17's in the back
