What will happen if i bolt this clutch

I just purchased this clutch for my MR2 SW20 Exedy TD05T 3 puck cerametallic clutch. My mechanic said it will wear out in a month if use it in the streets. My one is the first pic.

What will happen if i fit the clutch anyway? Can you please give me your advise because i think there taking me for a ride

I have a Spec stage 4 racing clutch that is sprung and hold 490ft/lbs if tourqe in my car. It has been in there for over a year and i drive it daily! they are most likely taking you for a ride! The main thing is that the clutch has to be srung so that you cna still feather it a little bit without the jerking your body around like its have a seizure!! Trust me the girls dont like that. The cerametallic material is going to go for a while. The main things to watch! clucth master and slave cylinders! sometime when you go up in disc pressure they break and you have to get a heavier cylinder! mine didnt i dont think you will have a problem. And DONT DONT!! drop the clutch on the street this will only cause your stock flywheel to eventually give and fall in to pieces!!! so yeah they are taking you for a run! if it is any stronger of a clutch like mine it will be fun learning to feather a stiff clutch like that! good luck!

that clutch isn't as hi-performance as you think... they're is NOTHING wrong w/ that clutch on street application...

See those springs around the center...? Those springs allow the clutch to slip to allow a smoother shift... Well any slipping in the clutch takes away performance and torque transfer.

Now since it has a very small three puck contact surface it will wear faster than a normal clutch...

From my experience

Puck clutches are crap unless u only want to do drag racing. And even then they are herd core on the tranny... I will never ever buy another puck clutch. I know there will be many disagreements with me, but I have many many friends that have had the same issues and will never buy a puck clutch for a daily driver ever again

I currently have a SPEC stage IV on my MKII now and its obviously stronger than the HP I have (appx 250bhp). It doesn't chatter and slip at all and I'm quiet pleased.

I have an OS Giken twin plate on my RX-7 and it is hands down the strongest clutch on the planet, atleast from my expereince. My RX-7 has almost 600wrhp and it NEVER slips... There spendy, but it come with the fly wheel too. There about 900.00 for the FC. Oh, I "had" a SPEC stage IV on the FC and it started to sliip around the 490rwhp mark, but that was 3 years old too, so a newer clutch should get you into the 500hp world and hold good.
