"If this generation 300ZX had an Achilles' heel, it was weight. The '90 Twin Turbo weighed an astonishing 3,474 pounds..."

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=100641

they are rated at 300HP at the flywheel, which means his car is pretty much stock, and a little worn. though they are still beautiful cars.
After reviewing about 10 sites, I found there was 10 different numbers for the wieght of an mr2. The highest being 2,780lbs. which is still 694pounds lighter than the Z.

wieght, driver skill, gear ratios, there are many factors, but imho I would say you can beat him. thats A LOT of extra weight, and you should be relitivly close in power.
weight advantage, close in power, launch advantage, and MR2's are geared very short

let out at 3500 rpm if you decide to have a pissing contest and you should get out there pretty hard and fast, and have some faith in your two

i used to own a tt zx they are really strong on top end 3rd gear through 5th is where they shine.i beat a stock tt zx in my mr2,ofcourse my mr2 is not stock.as for you like said before its all up to condition of the two cars and driver skill. but you should really be close if not in front

90 and up 300 turbos run a low 14 outta the box as compaired to the mr2 at a high 14, will depend how long you go with him for, simliar driving ability 300s will give ya a scare, with exh and 14psi you'll run him in the bottom just don't expect to go for the long run imo. depends if its an auto too.

Buy yourself a nice downpipe and you should be set for a drivers duel.

And who is going to know that the cat is missing? You think people really have their cats on? Most people dont. Just install it yourself, its literally just a bunch of nuts and bolts to unscrew.

No. You have to remove the cat and bolt it in place of where the cat was. A good amount of exhausts dont retain the stock cat anyway so I question what exhaust you have.
