different 3sgte intakes

I have seen two different 3sgte intakes. One has 4 plain runners going to the head. The other has 8 runners in pairs goint to the head. Is there a difference between the two or is someone trying to pass a different intake as a 3sgte unit?

the one with the 4 sepporate is the far better one from the gen 3 motor. It is possible to mod that intake and make it fit the gen 2 head.

If you are going to spend money on a different manifold buy and aftermarket one.

I think the manifold that comes with the motor is better than swapping manifold between different gens

I'm putting together a 3sgte top end from scratch so I don't have any intakes. I have my eye on a 3rd gen head so I was wondering which intake to get. The only aftermarket intakes I have found where a couple of custom jobs from Japan that where listed on ebay. I don't buy high dollar items on ebay due to knockoffs and scam artist let alone a 1200 intake from another country. If anyone has a company in the US that lists these peices I'll take alook otherwise it's stock for me and only what I can find on here or in the local scrap yards. I just wanted to know if there was any difference and what to look for.

yes, the one in the pic is from gen 3 and flows better. I have a gen3 head if interested, $200 plus shipping with no intake cam or valve cover.

measure the diameter of the holes then add them... for both intakes... bigger the total the more air is going to flow... only thing other than that, that will effect performance is runner length... and from the pics they look to be the same... but longer or shorter effects performance but both in a postive way depending of what your building the motor for...

Some of the cars over at ATS have different manifolds.

I have seen some sweet manifolds I will look for them for you but I am not sure if they are in your price range.

It's the same one used on Hyde.
Actually, I have had 2 different variations of the RMR on Hyde.
It's an awesome piece.
