Hello i dont wanna sound stupid or anything but i just had a engine put in my car and got it out the shop when it was first started the mechanic shifted the gears and it made a loud grinding noise after that the rest of the day i drove the car as normal but late in the evening i was driving and went shift from 1st to 2nd gear and there started the problem it would not stay in 2nd gear but shifted it into 3rd then tried to go into 4th then it would shift into 5th but putting it in revese it would not stay in gear there im so sad does neone know wat might be the problem with my baby..... is it the clutch? or a transmission problem ?

you had no problems before you had the engine replaced...?

if not... it has to be a clutch issue... maybe the clutch slave cylinder is loose and not applying the fork fully... because its not a constant issue w/ a certain gear all the time and its random and intermittent you have to assume something is loose or only making partial contact.

take it back to the mechanic... i'm surprised they released it from the shop w/ a trans issue...
