Hmm - where to start? First, if you're after a 93 to 95 model - good luck! There are more than twice as many 91s as there are 93s, 94s and 95s combined (i.e. they are pretty rare compared to 91s and 92s). I currently own a black 93 Turbo with about 55K original miles on it and the only way you could get it away from me is to pry it from my cold dead fingers!

That being said, if you have the persistence, the time and the bucks, they are worth seeking out - particularly the turbos with limited slip differentials from the factory. However, you would be foolish to overlook a really good deal on a normally aspirated 93, 94 or 95 as they are still a lot of fun to drive and are more competitive in their respective racing classes. Unless you really enjoy looking for parts, I would not recommend buying an MR2 that has had a Gen-2 or Gen-3 engine swap - its a lot of trouble for only 25 stock hp. One final clarification, MR2 turbos are not "twin turbos", they are single stage twin-entry turbos which means they have two entries to make more efficient use of the exhaust gases from the two exhaust valves for each cylinder.

Best of luck!

if you cant find a 93 or up you can just do as i did and buy jdm tail lights (also have a jdm 2nd gen it runs ok but gets touchy from our yellow water called high octane fuel). just stay away from the winter with it, and the car is awsome in rain or shine (rain with good tires anyway)
