hey i need advice on these cars im looking at. thanks.
hey guys. (and maybe girls...idk) but check it. me family friend mechanic just told me that someone is selling there mr2. 1991 N/A (which kinda sucks cuz i want a turbo) in excelent condition. he dosnt know the exact milage but he says its in excelent condition. there asking 5k for it. he says i might be able to get it for 4k. but i was looking at this one at craigs list.
dude i was planning to have the car till i die. if possible. i wasnt planning to resell it. idk he seems pretty honest. i was thinking like ask him to sell it for 6k or 6500 . but i mean its in pretty good condition. and its not like it was in a car accident.
i called the guy. he said that the dash is black and the door pannels/seats/ everything but the dash is blue. cuz everything else got stollen so he replaced the other stuff with blue color. is it hard to find black interior incase i was thinking about replacing the blue interior with black.? is it expensive?
I can see the obvious reasons why you would want this one. But the more u say about the car the more skeptical I would be about getting it. Who in the hell would replace nice black interior (even if it was stolen) with ugly ass blue? Salvage title is scary in every way shape and form. But if u are planning on buying it for sure, bring it to a toyota dealership, pay the 300 dollars for the total inspection for purchasing the car. The person who is selling it should be more than willing to do this, and of course do the carfax report. Interior can be very expensive....... Carpet alone direct from toyota with JUT will cost probably 4 - $500.00......
It is a nice looking car with all the new paint and slight bodykit. and has an apexi avcr boost controller. I hate my boosy controller, even though it looks kewl, it is waaaaay too complicated for something that should be so simple to adjust and use. The new paint is also another reason I would be hesitant on the purchase. But pay good money on inspections if u are planning on keeping this car for a long time. Where do u live? Also why does it have remote startup.... It is a 5- speed, and it is never recommended that u have auto startup on a manual tranny.

i plan to do the same... you kinda gotta buy it piece by piece unless you can find a totalled mr2 somewhere and get that and strip it.
ok heres the scoop
an accident or theft was never reported to carfax, however it does show that the vehicle has been listed as salvage since 99. the car has changed owners about 8 times not including the current owner as the last record is that it was sold at a salvage auction in CA. the last reported date was 10,20,2005 and the car has not been registered since.
my suggestion, if your at all still interested in the car, is to pay for an inspection at a toyota dealership. the car has been modified, and i guarantee its been raced/pushed hard.

Title #37929686 SALVAGE TITLE/CERTIFICATE ISSUED
Sold at salvage auction
the car was reg. in CA, and WA, i can list all the cities, but i doubt its important. and it does not qualify for the carfax guarantee. I had to call him to get the VIN as well, did not ask him anything else though :p
DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fot that amount of money, u could fly somewhere, and buy 1 that is just as nice, or nicer, and be just as happy. I know u have your heart set on it. But it isn't what u really want for a car that u plan on keeping forever.
shit i am so impacient. but i guess ill have to. but yeah i donk know im searching for more cars. i just found some on yahoo in the bay area. is this a good deal? http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/deta...W90YSZtbz1NUjI-
