2nd Generation E Manage & MSD BTM VS. EManage ult.

After reading many forums i see that it would be a good idea to use an MSD BTM and Greddy E-Manage if you are going to turbo a 5sfe. I was woundering if it was possible to use an e-mange ultimate rather or what the best combination would be to optomize the turbo and not destro my motor.

to turbo a non turbo and not destroy the motor... just keep the boost low

get a broadband o2 sensor w/ gauge and you'll be fine.

only reason you would need ECU management is if you plan to go performance w/ it. in that case you would need forged internals and lower compression pistons before needing ECU management anyways.

Would you be able to get more fuel to the engine that way?

yea... but you can do that w/ a pressure regulator or even bigger injectors...

an ECU will allow full control over mapping which you fully control delivery amount thru out the the power band... pulse widths everything... which is very cool and very beneficial but very very expensive. you don't need it w/ a stock or even moderate street tune.

before upgrading anything you need to find out the actual fuel damands of your motor and then decide what you need.

but he's talking about turbo on a N/A and the management you would need. because its obd I and the fact you can't have high boost do weaker internals especially weaker internals w/ higher compression... fuel and spark isn't a concern of yet... you would need a boost controller and a new map/boost sensor... these are load sensors and tell the ECU how much fuel is required due to a change in load.... small changes like low boost can be handled by the stock set up.
