My track times!!!

this is in my 1993 mr2 turbo---R/T = .742--------60' = 2.236----------330 = 6.198--------1/8 = 9.458--------MPH = 76.60----------1000 = 12.249---------1/4 = 14.608-----------MPH = 96.33------------------------------------------I now found out that I need a new clutch as well...this is not an excuse.... those times are straight forward.... but on the way home it started slipping, so I was wondering what my options were... should I upgrade or is the factory clutch gonna hold up to a decent hp???I don't want a Puck Clutch, and I don't wanna spend tons of money... any ideas would be well appreciated

A stock clutch in good shape is good to around 275-280 hp. After that you will need to upgrade. That means it all depends on what kind of HP goals you have. If you're gonna keep it 280 and under. I would stay stock. Maybe get a new disk and have both contact surfaces turned. Many options out there. Different materials, clutch disc styles-pucked, windowed, etc. A new heavy duty clutch is always nice though. You can get a good clutch cheaply from Ebay..
Is that your 1st time at the track? Not bad..!

i have a slip issue after driving my car hard for period of time... but its from oil leaking out the rear main onto the clutch... evenually it will cause the clutch to fail depending how bad it is. so i would recommend checking that out along w/ the input shaft seal on the trans too.

i had a stage II clutch... it was rated up to like 400 HP. it was a puck type w/ torsion springs... it held nice and wasn't annoying to drive being as tough as it was.

The SPEC clutches have worked great for me in the past.
ALthough the ones I had were puck style, they were easier to drive than stock.

Talk to Josh at Chico Race Works (www.chicoraceworks.com) and tell him I sent you
