5S-FE has a weak head...?

front wha i just heard... 1jz... valves/springs and retainers are a direct replacement allowing more flow...

i'm just throwing this out there... i haven't done any research on it yet... but i've heard it from multiple sources which to me makes it worth researching.

i mean.... aslong as it seats on compression.... why not... you can get 1jz valvetrain from a junk easily.

imma have to check in on this... nice cause cali CHP can't see this...

for modding a 5s-fe? my engine needs some work done, been debating on what to do, fix and mod up the 5s, swap 3s etc.
before i spend the money to swap, how much diff does the hard-top vs t-tops really make? my friend rants on and on about hard tops structureal rigidity being a HUGE factor. i understand his point, but i dont think its that big of a deal less your hardcore track racing or something. any thoughts?

The 1JZ was never offered in the U.S., but yes, the 2JZ valves fit the 93+ 5SFE head, and the 3SGTE valves fit the 90-92 5SFE head. Either are 1mm oversize.

You should really only consider this after you've already done cams and headers. It complements both. Some port work helps too.

It's somewhat a factor, but I wouldn't call it a major one. there are other ways of sureing up structual integrity. Jeff Fazio (Jeckyl and Hyde Racing)has a T-Top and he's using it for hill climbs-and setting some records on top of that. Given that, I would say it's negligible...

that much is obvious...

i thought the 1jz was the second gen supra... the 6 w/ the single turbo...

anyways i read it correctly... maybe they had it wrong.

but its always nice to see performace options for the 5S-FE
