^ thats true to a certain extent. if you take a machanic from the '60's who worked on the muscle cars of the era, he would know those cars well. But if he tried to work on a car from the '80's on, especially turbocharged , he would be clueless to all the computers modules, smog devises, T-VIS, and things of that sort.
But in general, yeah, if you can do a engine swap of any type, in should be do-able....
But Druiz12 is concerned....If I were in his place, i would want someone with the right experience...
my simple point is that the person may just be learning "ON THE GO" as he's doin the swap.. i'd hate to hear the guy tell me, "all is done!! we got extra screws here!!"
and someone who has done a swap or 2 in a honda.... doesn't exactly scream professional.... mainly because there is so much information on those swaps.... ie, EXACTLY what pins in the wiring to change, part numbers, tons of manufacturers that make everything simple....
toyota isn't exactly the same....

I think most civic swaps bolt right in, well, speaking from civics in the 90's, because those were the civics my friends were into. but i don't know sht about swaps, never done one.
honda are some of the easiest things to to motor swaps to with the rx7 and miata.....mr2 are not easy in any way because of the motor being where it is.....i tried to do this to my freinds mr2....i got the 5sfe out and we shipped it somewhere.....i used to do dsm's, and i have a jdm mr2 now i sent it to sound performance right away they are way to much of a hassle.
Mr2's are a PITA to work on, however at least the parts are easy to find for the turbo model, and at a reasonable price too!!! so I guess even though we have to pay a little more in labor on the right mechanic, it is well worth the money saved... as compared to peeps working on a supra tt or a 350 z.... those will cost u an arm and a leg to do anything to. So my advise would be to find and keep a mechanic that u know and can trust. Not that this mechanic isn't the one... But seeing as u are already questioning it... this gives me doubts.
