which cat back exhaust systems have the best, ok, and worst ground clearance. i'm looking at getting the tko system (3" piping and 7" mufflers). Any speculations on this topic?
if you were that concerned about ground clearance, i would hesitate on the tko b/c it is extremely similiar to the garage fukui departure exhaust.
my mr2 has a very aggressive drop (tein s tech on kyb agx). i had a single 2.75 in exhaust. the can would scrape from time to time. i now have the berk tech dual 3in exhaust and have had no issues. the berk tech is basically a 3in version of the above hks dual dragger, which were discontinued.
Berk Tech is probably the highest sitting dual muffler exhaust out there. TKO isn't too bad either. Garage Fukui, Greddy PE and HKS DD's are probably the worst.... but some of the best looking IMO. Or you can go with a single muffler, dual tip... which also sit high. Fujibitsu is probably the best of them... but there are a couple others.
i have found that you can do what ever set up you really want if you go to a custom fabricator or an exhaust shop and they will get you exactly what you are looking for and even order different mufflers for you if you want as well. that is what i did i have a system vewry similar to the TKO and i have yet to scrape on anything and after it was all said and done with the mufflers and the pipe work it was only $400. so really i think that is the best way to go becuase then you get exactly what you want and as well alot of the time the guys at the exhaust shops can give you the exact sound you are looking for as well as the look. just another option i am putting out there for you. good luck and i hope you find what you are looking for.
my dual draggers sit almost 1/2'' higher than garage fukui...i rarely scrape the mufflers..
I've driven a deuce with Dual Draggers as well and didn't have any problems going over speed bumps. I think a lot of people's scraping issues have to do with the driver.

The only problem with that is that all of the above companies have put in countless hours of R&D developing their exhausts for optimal performance. The chances of a muffler-shop built exhaust to outperform any of the above is slim to none. Unless of course it is a strait pipe or something similar.
this is true that they have put countless hours and dollars into developoing their product. as well you use brand name mufflers along with the custom piping and you have a net loss of a mere 5 horsepower. i dynoed my car next to my friends with the same setup other then the exhaust and it was a difference of 5.4 horsepower but yes you are correct that you will get a little extra from the others.
cool... what about the size of the mufflers? i noticed there is an option of 4", 6", and 7" mufflers. is that the overall size of the muffler or just the exit? cause if that is the cause, i might get the 4" but then i dont wont to sound "RICEY".
Not sure. it is a sweet looking exhaust though. a couple of people on mr2oc.com run it and I believe they said they were very happy with it. If you are not a member, you should join and search the posts.
jesse08880 check it out. Sounds pretty cool on the link. I would contact tem to see if they would ship it to the US. They do have other products that they offer ww shipping.
