2nd Generation Ngk Bkr7e Plugs

Hello.
I was just wondering if anyone is using these NGK BKR7E plugs in their MR2 Turbo. As i understand theses plugs have a copper core, how often do you have to replace these plugs. I know that copper is a very conductive metal but wears out quickly. I saw these plugs on Twos R Us, im thinking of trying out a set. Also i have a MSD 6AL on my car and was wonder what gap do most people run with this setup?

thanks alot

Those need to be replaced with every oil change. As for the gap, really depends on how much boost your running. The more boost, the smaller the gap. Otherwise stock reccomended gap.

thanks alot. I kinda figured that those plugs probably would need to be replaced often since they only cost like a $1.50 a peice.

Thanks.

do they offer much of a difference than other plugs that last 20k miles?

i have 'em in my 89 MkI SC. the stocking number is 1095. buy them at ANY parts store who sells NGK plugs. twosrus isn't the only place you can get them. nor is it, in my opinion, worth the shipping if you can get them locally. and i don't think it's worth doing business with people who have no scruples (aka david hawkins). i also have a 6AL and i change them like once every 3-4 months depending on how much i drive the car. they will wear more quickly due to your MSD, but nothing worth fretting about!

^ I've actually had a pretty hard time finding them locally. I found 1 out of 5 auto parts stores that could get them.... took a week to come in... and I had to buy a box of 10. I think it was less than $20 for the box of 10 though.... nice and cheap.

I usually have to order them too. You'd think NGK's would be readily available. But this is redneck Ford and Chevy 4 x 4 country.
