okae guyz heres my question im gonna replace my thermostat now sould i use one that i brought from autozone or should i get a genuine toyota one and the coolant and gasket ,or should i take it into the toyota dealership being that they have to drain the coolant does that mean that they are going to flush the system or will they charge extra for that they tell me that the cost is 190 as opposed to just using my 20 dollar one i got at mmm autozone also can you tell me where it is actually located .....

It's on the right backside of the engine. Follow the hose to it. You can also use the BG book convenietly provided by TN in the MR2 sticky to locate it.
I got a thermostat from O'Reileys. It works and fits fine. I don't remember how much it was, but it wasn't much. Does your coolant need to be changed? If Not, just top it off with distilled water when your done installing the new thernostat. You won't lose much coolant changing it out. Just make sure you evacuate any air from the system. It would be way cheaper to do it yourself. Unless of course, you have extra cash laying around to save yourself the hassle.
