Talking Hyde's new turbo kit

We got rid of our bastardized GT35R in favor of the new GT35R kit with tubular manifold available from AutoLabOnline.com.
If you contact AutoLab, please tell them Hyde sent you!

You can see Hyde's new turbo kit here:

You can see the damage to the previous pseudo-GT35R here:

Looks like a pretty well put together kit. Nice price too. Warranty on the manifold too!?!?! Seems almost too good to be true.

It's getting installed in the next week or so.
The tranny has been out and the engine hanging while we
were installing the Tilton twin-disc clutch system.

That should be wrapped up soon and then the turbo kit goes on.

I try not to have expectations, but seeing as last year we went 10.9@130 on a bad run, I would think we could at least hita 10.8 @ 131 on a good run this year

Seriously, I would expect that if everything goes right the car will have 10.4-10.7 potential in teh 132-136mph range.

I have no drag schedule as of yet ... not sure if we are entering any actual events or if we are just going to do some open tracks again.

I noticed in one of your pictures you have your old turbo with damage. Isn't it possible to put like a "filter" on the turbo itself? Or will that decrease air flow into the turbo?

The actual turbine blades were damaged by something coming out of the engine.
If you look on the damage page, there is also damage to the valves and the one piston.

There really isn't anyway to filter stuff coming out of the engine, going into the turbine because you are talking about a seriously hot space and it is also not a place you want to restrict air flow at all.

I get your point, but I assumed that the turbine sucked in an object. But yeah, I learned something
