mr2 stalling out

My mr2 has been stalling on me everytime i start it up. It wil idle at 1000 for 3 secs and then stall out. It gave me a check engine light, Code 24. So I replaced the MAF sensor. No change what so ever. The car still stalls out and my ecu is still giving me a code 24. Anybody got any ideas on what could be making me stall out like this?

whats code 24...?

just cause it throws a code doesn't condem anything. a MAF code doesn't mean a bad MAF... just the values the ECU is seeing is outta range or non existant.

can you manually hold the idle up and eventually drive it. or is this keeping the car from running at all...?

Just got my mr2 turbo back from a horrible experience yet again at a toyota dealership. they replaced my rotor cap ignition wires and spark plugs for $450.00. and did not resolve the stalling out. they said im leaking oil onto my spark plugs, which is making me stall out. the car does spit out alot of oil around the blowoff valve. They said my turbo needs to be replaced because of the seals, but i replaced it with the ct27 3500 miles ago.

Hey bro its happening to me too. My mechanic (he owns a couple mr2s and altracks) and he said that I need to buy an ignition Amplifier. MSD or HKS. I also replaced the cap/rotor, plugs and wires. and still the same. But my car isn't dying as much anymore. It's also a turbo mr2.

yea those seals tend to leak alot. because the spark plugs go thru the valve cover. i replace those seals everytime i change plugs and wires

That is an obscene price for just the stuff you listed.

If you are blowing oil out of your BOV, it is can only be coming from the turbo or the PCV.
If you have oil coming out of the PCV in enough quantity to have it exiting the BOV, I would suspect a major problem. I would have your engine compression checked.

What BOV are you running? Some aftermarkets are known to stick open which would cause you to not hold idle and stall out.

If you are not running over 400 rwhp, you do not need an ignition box.
