2nd Generation Im locked out of my trunck!!!

The other day I put the key in the trunk an accidently turned it to the left and the whole locking mechanism turned to the left, now I can not get it to open at all, even from the trunk release inside the vehicle, any suggestion on how to get my trunk to open? I tried to get the lock to turn back to the right, even put a screw driver in it and tried to get the thing to turn back but it wouldnt, and I did not want to force it. Anyone who knows how to pop the trunk, please let me know!!!!!
