I can get my hands on a set of HKS 264 degree Cams brand new for $400.00. Has anyone used these or has these in there car. I would be interested in knowing the performance difference before I buy.Thanks for any info.....
^ ditto, imo cams should come after mods like exhaust, intake, fuel, IC, MBC, and maybe clutch if necessary. If you are still on the stock CT26, its not worth it. If you get cams, you'll probably want a tune as well.
To date I have 24,000 original miles on my chassis, I rebuilt the entire engine and tranny and turbo at 16,800 miles as the car sat for 4 years while I was deployed. I have a stage 1 clutch in it right now, with a stage 3 clutch and fidanza flywheel sitting in my garage. I have a full intake, exhaust,BOV, Greddy SMIC,HKS Turbo Timer,KYB AGX/Eibach suspension, with a Mugen coilover set up for track days,light weight Dronell D-Power rims,larger cross drilled rotors w/hawk pads, short shift kit,the AC and tensioner removed,and Stage 1 lightening(no stereo/speakers/AC/spare tire/carpet but no padding any where/no airbag/removed cruise control system/anything in the car that is not necessary to include in the engine bay and trunk).I have a Greddy Boost controller,and fuel regulator in my garage also waiting to install. Stock injectors and fuel pump....Thanks for any help.

with all of the stuff there and a diff turbo i would say go for it...the stock ct-26 is not what you would call a awsome turbo...atleast for power (get a 16g or super 16g) mitsu turbo rule and are cheap.
and those cams are sweet i have seen them in a couple engine's always the same badass result i mean it is hks after all :P
mitsu turbos on a toyota? f that. get a rebuilt ct-26 with a TO4-B compressor wheel and housing, and possibly a clipped hot side. it will bolt directly to your stock manifold. You should also do some work with the fuel system (injectors, fuel pump, etc), because the stock fuel system will flow well enough to support basic modifications, but anything over 300 you will need something better. It isn't hard to make 300 whp without cams, so you will definitely need to upgrade to make the purchase of cams worth while.
edit: make sure you get it tuned. my friend got his STi Tuned the other day and he's only got a full exhaust and intake, and he gained a solid 20 awhp from the tune alone. After 12 psi the ecu is designed to tell the fuel system to put entirely too much fuel into the engine, which is ok, its safe, but you can make a decent amount of power, while remaining in the boundaries if a safe a/f ratio, and also get better mileage. 11.5:1 I think is about as lean as you want to go. most people don't realize how important tuning is.

Unfortunately, unlike the STI and evos, we don't have OBD II Ecus, and cant just get "flashed". Our options are usually more pricey, ATS rom tunes are a good choice from what I hear, or you'll have to go the expensive route aka EMS, Apexi power fc, etc... Mitsu turbos are great, a TD06-20g kit from ATS is what I personally am going for, just dump the CT26 if you plan 300+ to the wheels. A CT27 or CT20B will give you a bit more power, but will max out a little over 300.
thats a great price for the cams..if you intend to built the motor later on and go bigger turbo..get the cams and save them...for your current setup..i dont think cams would be needed...

as it sounds this isn't a daily driver... you have the option to plug and play w/ performance options and tunes w/o having to get it going so you can get to work in the morning.
get the cams for the price. once you start building internally you'll begin to get an idea for wha cams are needed and if they'll work great. if not sell them on ebay.
