Hey i have 4G to spend on my car. I have a 92MKll N/A and i originally wanted to do a gen 2 3sgte swap and then i started thinking about supercharging it but i quickly got talked out of it. So my questions are these
1)If i do a 3sgte swap and the mototr comes with (1-9) what else would i need?
-Complete Engine
-Transmission
-Intake And Exhaust Manifolds
-Distributer
-Ecu computer
-Alternator
-Complete Wiring Harness
-A/C Power Steering Pump
-Starter
2)what else do i need ex: like a new cluster.
3)Are there better sites than others to buy the engine off of?
4)How much would it cost to have it installed?
It's the Ripp Mods Supercharger kit. No engine.
Would you really want to pay the freight for an engine you aleady own?
Ya but tho whole problem i have with selling my car or just getting a Supercharger is my engine is going. So 1 i cant sell it and 2 if i do then i will not get a lot of money for it at all and i dont think any one would by it, i mean the body is in mint condition and the interior looks brand new. So thats my whole problem with selling my car and buying a turbo with the money i sell it for.
And sw20 is that your web sit i have checked it out so many times, if so were are you located?
No, its not my website. They are located in Souderton, PA , I'd personally just like to visit them someday, but I have heard good things about their work.
Ya i would like to bring my car there because i am only 3 to 4 hours away but in reality i dont have the $4900.00 dollars to spend on them. I was on ebay today and i saw a couple of 3SGTE motors for sale for around $1600.00 to $1999.00 and one of them ships for free to a business address. So i called him up and asked if there was anything else i would need to do a swap from a 5SFE to a 3SGTE and he told me he did not know i should ask a mechanic. So this is what brings me to the site once agian to see if i did buy one what should i look at that would come with the motor and what are other things i would need to buy once i get the motor?
Take it from someone who's done a NA -> Turbo swap...... sell the car... buy a turbo. You have to think of all the other goodies you are missing too. Brakes, center console, radiator, fuel pump... etc. You could reasonably sell your car for ~$4k.... take that other $4k and purchase an $8k Turbo.... which if you look around could get you a pretty damn nice car. I've seen some pretty desperate people sell there cars for CHEAP.

if the body is mint and the interior is as clean as you say it is..should be no problem selling it...
I would have to agree with MRQturbo and Ish. Even if the engine is not in all that good of condition, you should still be able to get between 3.5 and 4k...at least.. maybe even a little more..Then buy the turbo model and you may even still have a grand or 2 left over for whatever...
selling and buying a turbo model is a good idea, however, seams that everyone i found for sale was somewhat modified, or asking a recockulous price 10k+. there are good deals out there, just gotta wait for them.
however my mr2's engine decided it did not like oil anymore and stopped running forcing me to replace, or swap to 3s. I talked to a guy on ebay who offered free shipping to business address only, was kinda shady, i spent 2400 from another company got everything you listed PLUS a MAF sensor and shipping and stuff.got a local company fabricating my exhaust system, not sure on the price yet. when all is said and done i will make a post with all the costs. labor on installing the engine he quoted me 14hours(time it takes to swap a turbo out and back into a turbo) give or take a few hours at 60/hr. im hoping to have everything done and i can install the rest(gages new brakes ect myself) for 4k or under.
the other things people always mention, brakes suspension or anything are parts that wear out, and after 17 years, your suspension prolly need replacing anyway. specially if your gonna go for more than the stock hp ratings. so its really up to you. the deals you can find, and what you can do yourself.

This is some of the best advice I have heard, and would take into careful consideration the full and hidden costs of a swap, and tuning. People on ebay are paying over $3K for NA's that have BLOWN/BAD motors. Don't buy a car from ebay, you are competing with a International base of couch potatoes that are overpaying and getting into bidding wars on cars that are worth half of what they are going for.Sell yours on Ebay, let someone else pay to have it shipped to them.Take that money and find a private owner or a dealer that does not even want the car because its over 10 years old and pay $4-$8k for a turbo.Theres a lot of headaches in a swap, and time and money, and its hard to save any money on a swap unless you do it yourself, and that is NOT recommended unless you REALLY know what you are doing, and you will still have to have it tuned most likely.I have seen some of the nicest Turbo's around SOCAL sell on craigslist.com for pennies on the dollar.Even if it is not in your area if you get a good deal and have it shipped it would still be easier and cheaper than a swap.Best of luck....
Your other alternative is to spend that money and build a BADAS$ ALL MOTOR 5SFE, thats what I would do, you can get a lot of ponies out of that motor if you want, or go stroker!!! Over 200HP with a 150 shot of NOS....LOTS OF FUN!!!
