CT20b and upgrading fuel system

I have a ct20b on my 2nd gen, and wanted to know if i will be ok on the stock fuel system? I do have a walboro 255 fuel pump though. Does having a aftermarket fuel pump raise the limit the stock fuel system can handle? I would like to maybe get a bored out fuel rail, injectors, and something to run them. I do not however have enough cash flow to get a EMS just yet. So what would you recomend and how much would it cost? Also what rwhp would I be good for? Can i just controll the bigger injectors with a AFC?

SAFC is a dangerous game with the MR2, but it is possible to do.
Your CT20B on stock fuel should be fine up to 14-15 psi.

If you get and adjustable fuel-pressure regulator, you can up the boost a bit more if you run race gas and increase the idle fuel pressure. I used to do that only when drag racing.

I'm in the exact same situation as you problemmr2. I have a CT20b and stock 2nd gen fuel system and would like to upgrade. I'm aiming for the usual 550cc injectors, 255 walboro pump, ATS bored rail and FPR. I do think the cheapest (but safe) way to support the fuel upgrade is a tuned rom from ATS as well. Lately I've been reading more on getting a Hydra EMS though just for the fact you can tune it and not have to send it in to reflash for every upgrade you get down the road. Just for a FYI, I run 16psi daily on my 2 but I also have 93 octane locally and have a Berk IC.

So if i get a fuel pressure regulator, i can raise the pressure a bit to help out? Say i have $500 to spend. What would be the best thing to do? I want to run 18-19psi on my ct20b. I already have a walboro 255 fuel pump.

SW20 drift, how did you like going from ct26 to ct20b? I thought it was a good choice.

Playing the fuel pressure game is not something I would do for normal driving.
Your fuel mileage and general operating will be worse as you will be running pig rich.

It's a game I had some success with only while drag racing. I would drive to the strip, bump of fuel pressure, add race fuel and run a couple of extra psi of boost out of my T3T4. It did not matter for normal driving because I was only driving up to the line and back to the pits.

I should also mention that I have always been running water injection and an upgraded intercooler as well.

It is wise to be SAFE before you are FAST.
