open exhaust or aftermarket???

i got a 92' turbo and im about to finish rebuilding the engine AGAIN. last time i rebuilt it we started it up without the muffler or any piping, just open exhaust after the cat, wont i get better flow and sum extra power? do i have to worry about any cold air getting back up into the turbo and causing any damage after a while? if im missing anything or theres any other concerns i should have please let me know, thanks

I'm sure you'd go deaf and it would be illegal. Why not at least run straight exhaust to the rear so the exhaust fumes travels further behind the car and you'll save your hearing, somewhat...

well ya i would eventually put straight piping after a couple of weeks, to tell you the truth i really dont care about the sound, whether its low or it makes me deaf, or its illegal, i prefer not too loud cause i like to hear myself thinking when im driving and my music, pluss i dont like all the racket lol, i just figure it would give me more power since theres barely any restriction, nd the best part is it would be free

running open d/p can shock the turbine wheel if you shut the car off after running it hard since it is being exposed to hot temperatures, and then cold temperatures. It will definitelly be illegal, and eventually you will get a ticket. it is loud, and will drone on long trips, but on the bright side you will gain maybe 5-7whp. whooptie-do. get an exhaust.
