MR2 n/a vs. MR2 turbo

im considering buying a 91 - 95 MR2 turbo and i was just wondering how it compares to the n/a (performance wise) im actualy looking for an all around fast competitive car and i know the n/a has a 2.2 liter and the turbo has only 2.0 but also a turbo of course...... any clue what these cars (stock) would hit on the 1/4 mile??? s

if you care about performance don't even consider the N/A... its not bad for daily driving and street driving but if you wanna build on it parts are hard to come by and even still the don't produce any real numbers

dont forget, the N/A was built with an economy head, and is only fun cuz of the car's layout. the same engine in my old celica had some torque, and that was it. slow as sh#% lol.
still could beat a civic though :p

if that displacement is really a concern for you, they make stroker kits for the 3s-gte. and that is cheaper than trying to replace parts and build the 5s-fe(2.2)

Turbo model=200/hp & 200/lb tq at the fly ... compared to 140hp N/A
As for 1/4 times for turbo in good condition and descent driving I've heard high 13's..
low 14's for sure...

Bigger turbo, larger injectors, higher flow fuel pump, Larger intercooler, 3" down pipe and exhaust , boost controller,K & N cone filter, good tuning and some type engine management.
