Flow Question

Will oversized valves and 264 in/ex cams be to much for the CT26 to flow safely on the
3sgte?

i think it would be over kill for stock turbo...but its great if you plan on upgrading turbo later on in future..won't have to pull the head to install cams/valves if you wanted more power...

^Thanks! I'm trying to decide what to do while I have the engine apart. I am going to replace the #2 piston and ring all 4 cylinders. Then send the head to the shop for inspectiona nd whatever else I finally decide to do. I plan on either going with the CT27 full upgrade(I'm trying to stay as close to stock as I can while getting as much HP as I can)
or T3/T4 like you. Are you happy/satisfied with your T3/T4 set up?
Opinion?

I think you should consider replacing all four pistons with something that has a little bit more compression and build it up just a little while its still out and apart.

you are only going to replace one piston??...or all four....i'm happy with the t3/t4..somewhat quick spoolup but loses a bit on top end...makes decent power...just wished i had after market cams to push me closer to 400 range...

Oversized valves and cams offer more power because they increase high rpm flow.
The CT26 does not have any high rpm flow so it does not make sense to add these items to a CT26 car.

Yes, the #2 piston was damaged with pitting and a hairline crack. The others are good. But i am going to ring all 4 to insure equal compression and seal.
So what RPM does the T3/T4 begin to run out of breath?

What could i expect combined with the CT27 or T3/t4 ?

if you are going to sink that kind of money into the engine i would go with the t3/t4 or td06 or possibly that new berk tech gt30. all are around $2k.

i have the ct27. nice upgrade on stockish setup but if i had a set of oversized valves and 264's i would just bit the bullet. i would rather have a 350-400rwp ceiling than a 300rhp.

i was just at a dyno day where a kid put down 270rhp at 12 psi on a td05. my ct27 is going to need to see 17psi or so for that. his turbo was barely starting to breathe.

just my 2 cents though

Thats sounds good. But I am trying to stay close to stock as I can. I'm hoping to see somewhere between 280--320hp. Anywhere in there would be fine...

Like Keck03 said though it is going to be harder for your motor to see that kind of a horsepower rating out of a motor that is more stock or one with a smaller turbo. As well you are putting more stress on your motor for no good reason when you can put a little larger turbo on it and not stress things and in the long run stay away from more pitting of pistons and hair line cracks. I have a t3/t4 setup like MRQ and i love it. I have sat in car with the upgrade and then i drive my car and it seems to me that the t3/t4 has more of a punch and a little longe breath then the upgrade. and our cars are evenly modified. good luck.

I am strongly considering the T3/T4. I need more info tho. Fuel enhancement and delivery. And will the stock AFM handle it or some other type of A/F management.

as for fuel enhancement i have the greddy e manage ultimate and like its a great system i think. as for the fuel delivery it all depends on the the amount of boost you want ot run. I run 15psi on my t3/t4 and i am running 440s and i am fine. the AFM will handle it, but i would suggest at looking at something that is aftermarket becuase the singleband o2 sensor just doesnt give an accurate enough reading. That is just from my experience
