Paranoid???.....Crash Cage?

I think the MR2 is the car for my 140 mi/day commute.
I have always enjoyed them but I drive a Land Cruiser with a big RooBar on it and like its "safeness".

I have to drive from Grand Junction, CO to Rifle, CO through a canyon where rocks fall on the road. During migration elk and deer is a problem.

Is there a or can a crash cage be built so I will "feel" and be safer?

Putting a roll cage in a street car will make your car much more dangerous ... not safer.

yeah the cag like hyde said isnt going to help. plus you are putting a 2600lb car againt and elk that weights in just under the car the elks rack alone would total you and the car! and a deer isnt going to be a whole lot better of a situation. I lived in MI i have seen that matchup it isnt pretty. I would say if you get one use it for the weekends to drive not for a 140 mile drive of death.

I agree with MRQ i would just stay off those roads but if it takes you that much longer to go another way or that is the only way then i would just stay with the land Cruiser. Cause i am telling you if you get any sports car and you hit an elk you stand a good chance of not living to tell the tale! or just get a MR2 for the weekends and drive the none cliff to your death with crushing boulders rolling around.
