side pipes on na mr 2?

i was wondering if any of you guys had side echaust or side straight pipes on your mr's. I am intrested in that idea but i think it might be too loud with the engine right behind me.

unless this is for track only, straitpiping is illegal for a couple reasons. one, emissions laws, and two, sound laws. anything over 95 (iirc) decibles you can be ticketed for. car, radio, home anything. not to mention you would go deaf lol. nascar drivers wears lots of ear protection for a reason

In order to have side pipes, you would have to take 2 sharp turns(left and right) to achieve that since it's mid engine. and where would you place the cat conv.? if you wanted the pipe exits to be in front of the rear wheels, you would have to go forward of the engine too.
I'm sure it could be done. But with alot of trouble and no gains.

what if i reverse the exhaust? I really like the sound of the stock exhaust. I was thinking what if i got the exhaust heated up and have it bent forward instead of back. have the tips cuts, then add a curved pipe and add the tips to the end.

the straight pipe and not cat for the emissions only allpies to states that require you to take the car and do that i however dont have to being in FL! lucky me, MR2bad is right it is alot of work i think it would look cool but probably more work then you want. take it to a exhaust shop and see what they say. they are the experts and know what they can and can not do! if you do get it done there better be pics cause that would be nice.
