2nd Generation 95 Backup Lights?

Hello;

I recently upgraded my 91 tail lights.

My total spent so far.

Altezza Chrome/clear tails. 125$ Ebay
1995 Super White Centerpiece. Toyota Dealer 135$.
Various bulbs. 15$ AutoZone.

Backup lights?
Dealer wants 150$ for a set?

I payed under $200 for the light assembly and rear panel from Toyota. Try this website...

Under a $100 from them. Don't try to make something work get what fits and looks right. Otherwise you could call my Toyota guy in Colorado if you want. 1-303-789-6566 talk with Jerry.

ryde;

Thanks for that link.

I am confused about the trunk lock.

It looks like my 91 trunk lock is different, maybe it's wider and shorter?
It is not getting in the way of the centerpiece.

I have noticed the ebay JDM tail swaps include a 95 trunk lock.

I will look more into it, but my key is almost too short now to open up the trunk, the release lever works fine inside the car, which is fine.

Is there enough clearance for the backup lights with my 91 oem trunk lock?

ya i haven't replaced my 91 lock, it is to short. the trunk release works fine though. the trunk lock doesnt get in the way but the sheet metal behind the reverse lights does. Just take a hammer and with a couple knocks on the metal the lights will fit fine, don't go cutting like some people have.

Ya, a few pounds with a hammer and the reverse lights will fit in fine. As for the extended trunk lock. You can get them from the dealership, or find one used on the forums, but you have to remember to rekey it, it's not that difficult, otherwise you'll be rocking two different keys one just for the trunk.

Best regards,
Tsu
