2nd Generation Need Help

i just recently got my MR2.It's a 1992 and everything is good on it but the ebrake doesnt work.BTW it's a 5 speed like u pull the ebrake and the sensor works cause the brake light lights up in the dash but it feels like it's jammed.Got any ideas as to what it could be.Imma get under the car 2 morrow and check it out. Also the trunk was closed and then the lock was jammed while in the closed position. The person who i bought it off said he got it like that as well.Key doesnt work feels like it's nudged so how would i be able to fix that?would a locksmith be able to fix it.Also one last thing the air bag light is on all the time what could that be to?thx for the help and i'll keep it updated.

When you pull up on the Ebrake, is there any tension that gets tighter and tighter as you pull the handle further up? If not, then probably the cable is really stretched, snapped (rarely), or the boots are worn out from accidentally being driven with the ebrake engaged.

e-brake cables are know to break on a regular basis in mr2s. poor design. once it starts getting colder, you should just park in gear.
