opinion on a gen1

i have a 85 and an 88 gen1 mr2...im thinking bout building the mootor in the 88 an running direct port nos...it runs a 16 now. n specs says i will be in the high 12s with this build...its a .40 bore and custom rebuild kit from HKS....opinions...and it will be ready for a boost set up if i want to do that...opions please....

NOS sucks, direct wet shot, dry shot, est est. Doesn't matter, it plain sucks. You want some good speed out of an MK1 you don't need anything more than the stock super and intercooler. BUT, if you want to compete on a serious level with modern cars you need a major overhaul. Quick fix that I have planned is an S2000 engine, which fits right onto the mounts and all you really need to do is remove what little trunk space you do have, and a 28 PSI twin turbo. And look for a TOM's style air scoop for increased airflow. It makes a really good daily driver, since it'll still run smooth, have decent gas milage, and you wont be suffering any functionality. But, you'll also be making Mustangs, SI's, XRS', and even Evo's push to keep up

There, that's my opinion. Disregard or take heed as you see fit. =)
