Gen1 new member here.........

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this board, so I thought I'd say hi. I have an 86 MR2 with quite a few mods so far. Pics tures and details are on my website. A few things aren't listed on the website, like the poly bushings and the (just installed) 90 Celica GT front calipers. That was a really cool mod - direct bolt in and better braking. Just had to use the Celica caliper adapters and bolts, but was able to keep the same brake pads. I had already upgraded to the 87 -89 brakes (along with brained steel lines), so this was a good way to get better braking without increasing the weight.

Anyway, check out my page for my trick billet 2 piece Boyds wheels, my really awesome short shifter, my stainless exhaust system and all the other cool stuff I've done so far.

Thanks,
Marc

Yeah, I'm putting off getting the seat re-covered for now.

I got it dyno'd about 2 weeks ago. 92 HP at the wheels, but running very rich. That's about 109 flywheel which I think is pretty good with 192K and only bolt on mods on it.

I had just replaced the 02 sensor with a Nippondenso one. The fuel economy dropped noticably (almost 10 MPG) and the power seemed to fall off. the tail pipe was also covered in thick soot very quickly. I've since pulled that sensor and put the stock one back in.

This weekend I'm going to to a valve adjustment (first one it's had since I bought it and also the first it's had in I think 5 years), a timing belt replacement, and some other maintenance/mods.

I had the same problem with my '91 turbo. O2 sensor failed and it ran pig rich. about 15mpg instead of 28 and black soot in the pipes and even on the ground at idle. the O2 sensor is many times over looked when fuel problems arise. I too replaced it with stock...
Have fun with the timing belt. Just replaced mine... ugh...

Yeah, it's wont' be fun, but it's better than having it break on you! I don't mind though as so far everything I've done to the car wasn't as bad as I thought it might be and ended up making a nice improvement.
