MR2 Mk1 turbo?

Here's the deal I have researched for about for days now trying to figure what way to hop up an MR2 MK1 and I see now that many people choose to swap the engines out. This is where I run into problems, I'm getting ready to buy an MR2(within the next week) and it will need an enigne replacement. I do realize that the stock 4age in there has numerous possiblities but is there one that can easily be dropped in there and have a better ceiling of output.

Now I know some people have dropped the 3S-GTSE or something like that from the Mrk 2s and I realize that these are tremendously upgradeable but are so freakin exspensive and won't exactly fit just right.

My thoughts now are to go with one of these any suggestions including other possibilities would be much appreciated:

1. another 4age from that same era
2. 4agze
3. 4age black top or silver top
4. 4age red top from corolla gts

Now I now for a fact that there are racing camshafts and pistons for the older 4age but would they fit on the newer 20v, I eventually want to turbo the enigne so is there one that is best for that. I also am aware of the twincharging that is going on with 4agze!!!!!!! I have read many opinions but am just trying to make the right decision. Thanks for the help and by the way money is not a huge issue but I do have a limit of funds. so if I could get two recomendations one for the best deal for performance and the best enigne for strictly for performance please.

Thanks for the help

Can't wait til i get this thing I have come to love them and don't even own one yet!!!!!

if you plan to turbo down the line, then do it right and get a 4agze.... it'll be a stronger motor and you'll save time, money, and hassle doing it right the first time

i'm building my 87 with an ae101 4agze and an intake-side mounted ct20a
